Who I am
This is the personal website of Daniel Masterson and is unaffiliated with any organization, although this site is hosted on the NovaDawn Studios network (Of which I run) for convenience reasons. My personal website addresses are ‘https://masterof.dev‘ and ‘https://dmasterson.net‘, both of which point to this particular website.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site, the site collects the data shown in the comments form, alongside the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help aid in spam detection.
Should the capability be available, should you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website, and no stripping service is provided.
If you leave a comment on this site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
I’d like to say nobody, but since this site is hosted on the NovaDawn Studios network (For convenience reasons only), data may be shared with them simply by shared infrastructure. Given that I’m the primary developer for NovaDawn Studios, this shouldn’t worry you too much (hopefully), and I’ll try my best to share as little information as possible.
How long this site retains your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so the site can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data this site holds about you, including any data you have provided to it. You can also request that I erase any personal data the site holds about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where this site sends your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Other than that, no data is sent anywhere.
My contact information
While I’m working out a spam-proof option, if you leave a comment providing your email, I will get back to you directly via email.
